Our English lessons will focus on two fantastic books - Katie in London and Toby and the Great Fire of London. These books ignite our enthusiasm for writing as we continue to develop our narrative writing. We will also be looking at non-chronological reports and poetry.
Year_2 Spring 1 2019 Curriculum Topics
In Maths, we will be revisiting our arithmetic skills and finding ways in which we can add, subtract, multiply and divide more efficiently. We will also be learning to tell the time to 5 minutes and looking at position and direction.
Our Geography lessons will be based around the question 'What make Britain Great?' in which we will be exploring the counties, cities and landmarks of our island. As well as this, we will be looking at our weather and creating our very own weather maps.
What make Britain Great?
In history, we will be looking at The Great Fire of London and discussing what we think may have caused the fire to be such a great tragedy. As well as this, we will be looking at ho the Great Fire has changed the way we understand fire safety in our modern day.
How do I improve my programs?
We will begin to understand that computers often control devices such as robots and that these commands need to be clear and sometimes require errors to be corrected
Our science topic is 'Living things and their habitats' where we will be looking at the following questions: What things are alive?; What is a habitat?; How are animals well adapted to living in their habitat?; What is a micro-habitat?; and How do animals obtain their food?
In RE, we will be exploring whether praying at regular intervals everyday help a Muslim in his/her every day life?
