Brilliant Bronze and Interesting Iron

Friday 17 Dec 2021 13:51pm

We have had a fantastic start to Year 4 and you have all come such a long way this term! Miss Kennedy and I are so proud of every single one of you for the resilience, hard work and excellent attitude you have shown in Y4 so far.

In Spring 1, we’ll be moving forward from the Stone Age into the Bronze and Iron Ages, where we'll discover how metal changed the lives of prehistoric humans. Stig of the Dump will continue to be our class text as I know you’re all enjoying it and there are many more adventures to experience with Barney and Stig.

Swimming will continue on Tuesday afternoons, with the last session taking place on Tuesday 25th January. PE is still on Fridays; please make sure the children wear the appropriate kit to school on these days.

Reading and practising times tables at home is so beneficial for all aspects of your child’s education so please endeavour to do this regularly. The Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) is coming up in June and the children have put in so much hard work already. Maintaining this and continuing to improve their speed and accuracy will make a massive difference.

Thank you for your support, we’re looking forward to another great term!

Mr Hayes
